Frequently Asked Questions about freerangedial.co.uk's internet
access provider service
How do I sign-up for your service?
We don't make you jump through hoops to use our service,
why should we? We have made it as easy as possible to start
enjoying the benefits of Freerange. There's no sign-up, no
lengthy contract and no payments to be made. All you need
to do is enter our access settings into your computer &
that's it!
Can I use more than one ISP?
Yes, more than half of Internet users already do.
Any previous Internet Service Providers settings will remain
on your computer.
Do I need any additional hardware
or software?
All you need is standard modem or ISDN terminal adaptor
(and, of course a phone line!). There is no new technology
used, we simply offer a higher level of service than our competitors.
Is your service anonymous?
Yes. Many ISPs are in the perfect position to collect
and sell information about their users' activities. We do
not collect information about which pages you download, we
have no need to. And because there's no sign-up involved we
don't know who you are.
Will using Freerange cost
me more money?
No, you only pay for the minutes you use and we only
charge local call rates. And because our Internet access service
is so reliable, connects first time every time and is so much
faster, you will almost certainly spend less time on-line
or waiting to be connected.
What is the charge for local rate
calls?
Weekday calls between 8am and 6pm, 3.95 pence per
minute.
Weekday evening calls between 6pm and 8am, 1.00 pence per
minute.
Weekend calls between 6pm Friday and 8am Monday, 1.00 pence
per minute.
Are there any further charges I
need to pay?
No, other Internet Service Providers like Demon Internet,
AOL and Freeserve all provide services where you a charged
a monthly fee. Our members benefit from no monthly subscription
fees.
What have I got to lose by trying
your service?
Nothing. You will recognise the benefits of the Freerange
service straight away. However, if you decide that you would
prefer not to use it, you simply revert to clicking on the
previous Internet Service Providers logo that you used before.
You don't have to install new software to use Freerange so
your old Internet Service Provider details will remain on
your computer. Unlike other ISP's we don't delete settings
from your computer.
Do I need to be computer literate?
No. Simply follow the Freerange set-up instructions.
They are written on the assumption that everyone who reads
them understands very little about computers.
Will the you Internet service be
any quicker?
Yes, you'll be able to surf faster, and because our
service normally connects to the internet first time, everytime
you will spend less time waiting to connect.
Can I keep my current e-mail address
and account with my current provider?
Yes. Just ensure that your Outgoing SMTP Mailserver
Setting in you e-mail account settings (e.g. Outlook Express,
